Silhouette and proportions
The Tazy is a harmonious, elegant, medium to above-medium sighthound with lean, developed muscle. The body is slightly longer than height at withers, while the topline in motion remains strong and springy.
Head, ears, and expression
The lean, long head forms a pointed wedge. Long fine ears carry the characteristic soft fringe, while large dark almond-shaped eyes create a lively, attentive expression.
Movement matters more than the pose
The standard describes an easy free trot, a short gallop while searching, and a full rushing gallop in pursuit. A photograph or show pose alone cannot demonstrate functional quality.
Coat and colour
Body hair is soft, smooth, and short, with winter undercoat possible. Feathering appears on ears, legs, and tail. The standard allows yellow and grey shades, white, and black with specified markings.
