How the Tazy moves
The Kazakh Tazy’s trot, searching gallop and full-speed pursuit as described in FCI Standard No. 372.
An easy trot
The FCI standard describes the Tazy’s trot as light, free and apparently effortless. This belongs to the overall picture of the sighthound: a lean build, developed muscles and long limbs combined with easy movement.
Searching and pursuing
The standard identifies a short gallop when searching and a full, rushing gallop when pursuing. The Tazy’s working qualities include quick decisions, manoeuvrability and endurance. It uses both sight and scent, so its work involves more than spotting prey by eye.
Speed
The standard gives no maximum speed in kilometres per hour. Its description of fast running characterises the breed’s movement; it is not a measured result for an individual dog.
