The Tazy pedigree book: what registration records and what it does not decide
The 2023 rules treat ancestry records, a register certificate and breeding eligibility as separate decisions.
The rules and the body that keeps the book
Order No. 107 of 31 March 2023 took effect on 1 July 2023. The National Centre for Kazakh Dog Breeds keeps the book, recording ancestry, conformation and breeding use.
The main book and the register section
Requirements for the main book include purebred ancestry with three consecutive generations of the same breed. A register section covers unknown ancestry; its certificates omit ancestor details.
When a pedigree has already been issued
For dogs with an earlier pedigree, a register certificate can include breeding rights. Requirements include conformity to the standard, breed, ancestry and ownership details, a tattoo or chip, and at least “very good” at an official show or inspection.
When there is no pedigree
Breed conformity is assessed in a separate ring at an official show. A grade of at least “satisfactory” leads to an initial register certificate without ancestor details, marked “Племенному разведению не подлежит” – not eligible for breeding.
Applying: registration is not eligibility
The owner applies to the National Centre using Appendix 3 and attaches the domestic animal’s passport. Registration and breeding eligibility are separate decisions.
