Recognition timeline
Kazakh Tazy in the FCI: a 2023–2026 timeline
Five checkpoints – national-organisation membership, inspection, provisional recognition, and the first international seasons – without conflating their status.
2023: an institutional route opened
The FCI General Assembly admitted Kazakhstan's canine organisation as a full member in August 2023. That created a formal international route for work on the national breed; it did not yet recognise the Tazy itself.
Readers should keep membership of an organisation, a breed standard, and an individual dog record separate: they are three different evidence systems.
2024: inspection and provisional recognition
A Kazakhstan government source reports that international experts examined about one hundred Tazy dogs in May 2024. The current FCI record subsequently lists the breed as number 372 with provisional-recognition status.
Provisional recognition provides an international standard and a show route, but it is not final recognition. TAZY.DOG retains the English status next to translations so the boundary remains visible.
2025–2026: international visibility, not a new status
A government report on World Dog Show 2025 and a UCK account from Bologna 2026 document international participation and results. They establish visibility for the breed and particular performances.
A show result does not change breed status by itself. Check current wording against the FCI record and individual results against an organiser protocol or a clearly attributed report.
