What genetic studies of the Tazy say about the population
Two 2023 papers describe study samples and population patterns, but they do not provide a medical or breeding conclusion for every dog.
What the researchers studied
Open peer-reviewed studies examined genetic structure, diversity, and runs of homozygosity in defined samples of the Kazakh Tazy. The authors used genetic markers and population methods to compare groups and describe observed patterns.
The unit of inference is the study sample, not the whole current population or any individual dog. Sample composition, provenance, and size matter when interpreting each result.
What the studies do not establish
A population measure cannot be converted into an individual disease risk, litter-quality judgement, or mating recommendation without data about the specific dogs and qualified review. A candidate genomic region is not automatically a proven speed gene or a validated diagnostic test.
A 2023 paper may describe FCI status as it stood while the manuscript was prepared. Current breed status must be checked against the current FCI record, not an historical sentence in a study.

A new scientific claim enters public copy only after the primary paper, scope of inference, and editorial wording have been reviewed.
